TWO DAYS AGO

Once again the prompt is asking me to look back. Oh, 2 days, okay maybe I can easily do that. Then again the short term memory is the first to go, isn't it? (Looking up at the title again to remind myself of the prompt.)

Today is Monday, June 18, 2012 so two days ago would have been Saturday, June 16, 2012. I am quick like that!

Saturday was a very hot and very humid day here in mid-Michigan and Roomy and I had a few yard chores to tackle as well as enough time allocated to relax and enjoy the day. The morning found us sipping coffee and chatting while we watched the bazillion birds drop in and out of the back yard gathering worms or pieces of straw or whatever and flying off with their treasures. The sparrows who have nested and laid eggs under my petunias in the window boxes on the barn, flew in and out a hundred times, maybe the eggs are not eggs anymore. We watched a couple of bunnies, ummmm, doing what bunnies do often right in the middle of our yard and then just hop away. I think I muttered something about them being exhibitionists or something and of course, my favorite, the hummers flying in for a sip or ten and then zooming off to the next feeder or flower.

Roomy re-seeded the area of the lawn that isn't wanting to grow back from the cement work and I did some weeding and some moving around of the potted plants. I treated the pool with some stain remover and skimmed it and took a dip. We took a lot of breaks and puttered the afternoon away.

Dinner was the D-Railed Bar and Grill in beautiful downtown Durand for a really good sammy and pepper balls and sweet tater fries. I also enjoyed the best, yes the best, Mojito I have ever had!  Delish!  Good service and really friendly place to hang out for a quick meal or just to hang with friends, I imagine. If we ever get some friends, we might take them there.

Two days ago I was younger than I am now and I will be older again tomorrow than I am today, maybe. No guarantees about that, of course. Every day I seem to be reminded that time is rushing by and life needs to be lived out loud. I spent some more time trying to convince Roomy to give his notice and officially retire NOW. I find time almost every day to work that in to some conversation. He really needs to be done working, it's too much for his feet and I would love for him to be more mobile and have much less pain. He could do that by NOT standing in a cherry picker bucket all day 5 days a week. Not good for the old and severely messed up feet!

That's it!  Two days ago was just as boring and just as wonderful as today has been so far. Summer is here and I am not missing any of it.  ♥

  3. Once again here you are concerned with the yard. It must be beautiful! Dinner out sounds like a great treat too. I've heard many talk about the aggravation of a retired husband. All that togetherness can drive some women nuts!

    1. Our yard does take a lot of time and it's time I really enjoy. My cover photo on my FB timeline is the back yard, if you wanna see it. As far as all that togetherness, I am much more concerned about his feet giving out on him than I am about him bugging me. I think we can work through that problem, but not if I'm having to push him around in a wheelchair because he is too damn stubborn to admit that his age and his health no longer allow him to do the job he has been doing most of 45 years. He needs to take care of himself before it's too late and the damage is done. It's all about that, not where he is hanging out! The winter will be an issue when he can't get outside and I don't want to get outside. LOL

    1. I have two ways to follow and you are following on the google connect way...the other is the networked blogs and is below the google connect. You can, if you like follow both ways or either one. On your blog, I followed on the right hand side where it said follow. I had no problem finding it and have been following you for a long time. Don't know why there would be a problem doing that. :)

  7. Oh we can get all the excitement we want in stories and novels. Even by living lives of characters in a movie we see. In real life peaceful and steady is much more wonderful

    1. It's no road trip! he he he I do love a good road trip, but you know that. Our house is a summer joy and I like working at the upkeep and I am happy to have time to do it now. I suppose a lot of people wouldn't do what we do, but it's really a pleasure for both of us. We love playing here and we love improving on what we've already done. Summer is made for this! Thanks for the compliments. *blushing*

  14. I do NOT enjoy house upkeep. Yuck. I'm tending to too much else, so more power to you. However, I do remember the joy I used to derive from creating a home...then living, loving, laughing and experiencing life in that home. This is what I am reading here. It is actually not boring at all. It is the things of which dreams are made.

    1. I feel like I have lived my entire life working towards where I now find myself. Honestly, this is the life I have always wished for and I am loving every single day of it. It is boring, but in a good, nothing crazy is probably happening again today, kind of way. It's just a happy and contented life. ♥

The weather reports are important to me because they make or break my moods! LOL I do wish we would get some more rain, though. It's nearly like living in Arizona, except we have the humidity. That's not fair. ♥
