It's Your Turn

Hello...

I have not been here since the Holidays! I have no idea why I am not blogging more. I do have things I share on my page, some pretty boring, but still, that kind of is my life. I'm okay with that, by the way.

I'm here now and I want to share something that really isn't about me. It's about you. Yep, YOU; my reader(s). There might be more than one, not sure because the comments here and on my page have dwindled considerably from what they used to be, but I'm good with that. See, I do get a count of how many "readers" or "clickers" I have, so the comments are more about knowing someone liked it or didn't like it enough to tell me. Bonus!

As I sit and type my thoughts or my happiness or my pain or confusion, I often think that maybe someone else will share that moment. That someone else might need to know they aren't alone. You might be the one I touched or supported or you might be the one to lift me up or smile with me. That's my goal.

So today I am fresh off a reunion with some people I really enjoy seeing once a year! I will add that I'd love to see some of them more often, but logistics limit us to the once a year visit. It's a long drive for us, about 2.5 to 3 hours, traffic deciding, but once we are there, it sure feels worth it. Re-connecting and laughing and remembering and catching up...reunions are just plain fun to me. And this one was no different. I always leave wondering how it is that we still have some connection with zero, in some cases, communication between these things?

The question for those of you who wish to play along, is simply this...

Do you enjoy or would you enjoy monthly, weekly or annually re-connecting with people you knew in your teens? Most of whom you haven't seen in say 20-40 years? Would that stress you out or would you embrace that get together?

Your turn...tell me your story...

  1. Jo, as you know, I have been getting together with best friends from high school annually for our golf trip for the past 7-8 years. I had not seen most of them in 40+ years prior to that. When we first got together it was like we were never apart. We have the same connection as we did 50 years ago. I had not seen you in 40+ years when you had your party at your house for the "Gaines Kids". I have enjoyed reconnecting with you, but as you know, we have always had this peculiar connection. I always read your posts, although I frequently do not post a comment. :)

    1. That's all true. I have not felt anything but better after each get together with our old friends. Having you and Leigh back in my life has been a blessing. We're connected forever, like it or not. 😛
Thanks for playing! And thanks for always reading.

  2. Honestly? I'm weird I guess because it would stress me out. There is another high school reunion coming up in the works and I just don't know if I want to go. All that judgment and scrutiny. I have yet to go to one...but I figure if they wanted to keep in contact with me they would, which they don't. Still I am curious. I have heard that at the last one they compiled a slide show and it had pictures of me throughout. Wild. Any who...most of the time it is easier to stay home instead of going and having all these people refuse to talk to me. It would be like high school, all over again, and Im not sure I am ready for that.

    1. As someone who has tried not to miss any opportunity to meet up with old school chums, I can honestly say it is NOTHING like high school.
Everyone feels equally valuable and those I barely knew are some who I adore now.
Maturity is a great equalizer. I'd highly recommend you try attending one, just to see.

    1. I think you'd be surprised. High school is filled with immature people who live in clicks. As adults you really don't see that so much...you see equals who have aged, gained or lost weight, gained or lost hair and spouses and for the most part want to hear your story and share theirs. It's been very uplifting for me and I find that common amount those who attend.
