If you can't change what is happening or what is, then you gotta deal.
That's really all it means to me. Being in control is a good thing for me, but when I'm not, I am able to accept. I'm glad you have her so close and that the bond is even closer!

I'm not a big fan of the "It is what it is" saying though. lol I try not to plan too far ahead in to the future, mainly because nothing can ever be set in stone but I know it's good to at least have direction. I'm not a control freak, either, and I find that makes it less difficult to roll with the punches whenever life swings at me. So I guess in a sense, the quote kind of fits for me too but it always seemed like people overused it and most of the time, in situations where they are unhappy. So it's ruined for me.Dances With Vodkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17826849421762801692noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8032376069218624542.post-89369317376589714862012-03-27T14:48:34.741-04:002012-03-27T14:48:34.741-04:00I did this already, but it disappeared! Your mom won't always be about. Enjoy her while you can and be there for her. When there comes a time when she is gone, you will have no regrets. You will be happy you stayed put. It was quite a feat, but we did it and she is about 10 minutes away. I too, watch over her and my husband and I are here for her. She is in her 80's and holding her own, but still needs us. I too, have thought of moving to a new location, but know I couldn't go without my Mom in tow. That would just be too much for her right now. She's snug as a bug in her little town home and her location is perfect. Grocery stores, Walgreen's and Target near by. Yes, it is our turn to give back! 8o)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8032376069218624542.post-91473716985324187932012-03-24T19:43:19.220-04:002012-03-24T19:43:19.220-04:00She is of very sound mind! I tried really hard to let my Mom live her life without interference, but there are times where the elderly need for someone to take some matters into hand. As you no doubt know, it is a delicate balancing act for them to maintain their independence AND at the same time you are looking out for her best welfare. I know you know exactly what I'm talking about.Darlene ~Bloggity Blogger~https://www.blogger.com/profile/08202901408911879517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8032376069218624542.post-69866820060988126982012-03-24T16:58:08.351-04:002012-03-24T16:58:08.351-04:00Yep and I totally know that, Darlene. She is gone now and I still have plenty of time to do what I want to do. Also, plenty of time for those decisions for the full retirement.Darlene ~Bloggity Blogger~https://www.blogger.com/profile/08202901408911879517noreply@blogger.com
