What leaves you breathless?
I am asking myself; because this week’s GBE2 word prompt is “breathless”.
My answers~
1)
Elvis
Presley’s voice singing almost anything.
2)
The sound of
my grandchildren laughing, talking or playing.
3)
The hug or the
kiss of my husband. (Not the kind of breathless that makes it hard to catch my
breath, the kind that makes me grateful that he chose me.)
4)
Finding just
the right words to type to express an emotion I’m feeling for my characters. Or
the right word to convey my own feelings on a subject.
5)
Furbabies
kisses.
6)
Holding a
newborn~anything.
7)
Watching a
mother animal instinctively know how to care for a newborn, the first time.
8)
God’s infinite
mercy and grace and love.
9)
A hug from
someone who genuinely loves me.
10) A wedding.
11) Reading a
book that I am incapable of putting down.
12) Love.
13) A sunset,
especially over water. (I’d probably enjoy a sunrise, too, IF they happened a
little later in the day.)
14) Cooking
something for someone who really enjoys eating it.
15) Having my
entire family in one place for hours.
16) My life.
Okay, not all of these
things literally leave me breathless, but they do make me very happy and a
couple of them really do take my breath away, momentarily.
What leaves YOU breathless?
Jo
I have mine started, but not finished. I knew I should finish it before I read yours. Once again our minds are in sync and we were thinking along the same lines. Mine is a little different though, so I'm going to finish it. I'm not reading anymore until I finish mine, though. I don't want to have to start all over. Then I might have to go with mushy, or steamy, or, or ?
ReplyDeleteI usually don't read before I finish. I had this one done, but it was similar to Mimi's and I thought maybe a couple others were close, though not lists. I went with it anyway.
DeleteI did think about steamy, but I just did that a couple weeks ago. Too much steam is not good for old women. Another reason for passing on Shades of Gray. :-)
Most of the above, plus running downstairs-upstairs 10 times. Just trying to inject a little humor here. :) Love you.
ReplyDeleteHA HA right there with you on the exercise thing! hahahahahha I make it a priority to include running up and down stairs daily! Okay, not a priority, but the freezer, the washer, the dryer and Sadies grooming area are down there, so I DO go down once or twice a day. Love you, more. ♥
DeleteLovely list Jo! ♥

:-) Thank you, so much! ♥
DeleteGreat list and Pat's list made me laugh, it is something I do too :)))
ReplyDeleteyep, my sister is funny, no doubt! She is also right, one trip up and down the stairs leaves me breathless some days! lol
DeleteThanks for sharin', Claudia
Can very much identify with #11. I don't read books, I consume them.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing, eh? thanks for sharing, Steven. ♥
DeleteLanky with come hither eyes, short of that a beautifully written sentence, a good book, letting go of a hurt, discovery of something I never knew about myself, and pretty much anything my kids say when we are bantering about life or watching a movie.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice list. I agree with letting go of a hurt, feels life changing.
DeleteThanks for sharing, Brenda.
A marvelous list. You'd love the wild baby bunny that romps on our lanai.
ReplyDeleteI would, indeed! We have bunnies at the bird feeder every day and I love them. Thanks for stopping by...:-)
DeleteWhat a lovely list. I can identify with a lot of them, except the grandchildren - but I know what you mean.
ReplyDeleteThanks and I imagine a ton of people would agree with my incomplete list. I believe my list would actually be pages long if I included every single breath stealing moment of my life.
DeleteLove your list Jo! We do have a lot in common!
ReplyDeleteI know! It's a good life!
DeleteThis is a wonderful list; however, I'd limit the newborns to specific things. There are some newborns I wouldn't want to touch!

LOL Possibly some I wouldn't want to touch, but would still enjoy watching!
DeleteQuite a list Jo and full of such happiness. Definately a woman who feels blessed and happy with her life!
ReplyDeleteI am a blessed woman and quite honestly, I am not even a little bit wanting. Thank you for being an additional blessing in my life. ♥
DeleteA great list and filled with loving moments. Nicely done Jo. I love sunsets too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Suzy. Appreciate you stopping by and sharing. ♥
