VETERANS DAY TRIBUTE
2008
2008
They walk among us everywhere.
Living life, the same as us.
He is tall & short, bald & long haired.
We know him & he's a stranger.
Memories haunted by danger.
She is a mother & a wife
With deeply hidden scars.
She never married, loves her life
Rides bikes & drives cars.
Honor him, honor her.
Thank them, smile, say "Hi."
Some gave more than others
But all gave more than you or I.
We are free & we know why.
We are humbled by their sacrifice.
Thank You Veteran~hear our cry
For our country~for this life.

Amy...thanks
ReplyDeleteKathy...*blushing* thank you.
This was lovely. Well done. A big subject to tackle, which you manged with ease (probably not, but it read as if the words flowed out).
ReplyDeleteBrenda...It actually did just fall out of my brain through my fingers. It was one of the easiest things I have ever written. I believe I had written it in my head for many years and so when I sat to expel it from my thoughts, it was almost finished. Thank you.
